Afraid of Needles?

Are you afraid of needles? The truth is nobody gets acupuncture because they love needles. People are often apprehensive when they come the first time. If you are nervous, or even downright scared, it's okay. As an acupuncturist, I'm used to working with people who don't know what to expect when they arrive, so I've gotten very good at putting them at ease.

Before we begin, we have a chance to talk about why you've come and get to know each other a little. I will explain thoroughly what I'm about to do, and answer all your questions. I see one client at a time, so my attention is never divided.

Acupuncture needles are many times thinner than a needle you would get at the doctor's office, so tiny that you may not even feel them go in. Once they're in, clients rest and let them do their work, often enjoying a pleasant doze.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture can be so effective that even the most nervous first-timer can become acupuncture's biggest fan after experiencing the results of this ancient treatment.

Registered Acupuncturists (R.Ac for short) are specialists, experts at providing safe, effective Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture for many, many health problems. With hundreds of hours of focused education on correct needling and TCM, we take the wholistic view of mind and body.

Treatments often affect numerous systems simultaneously, so if you come for help with your running injury or period pain, you may find that you are also sleeping more soundly as a side effect. Acupuncture is not just for pain, and an R.Ac has the comprehensive knowledge to provide the best quality treatment.

Acupuncture and Pregnancy

Treating pregnancy issues with acupuncture has become one of my favourite things to do, and my continuing education is focused in this area. Pregnant clients are especially appreciative of a drug-free and effective method to ease the discomforts that can occur while the body changes to accommodate a growing baby.

Acupuncture can help with symphysis pubis pain, hip and low back pain, nausea, breech and occiput posterior presentation, worry, acid reflux and more. There is also a treatment protocol to promote an efficient labour, recommended during the last four weeks pre-birth.
